The CONCERT study is evaluating an investigational oral medication to see if it reduces the number of cataplexy attacks that you experience and symptoms of excessive daytime sleepiness in those diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy.

The investigational oral medication is being studied as a 6-week treatment to understand its effects on symptoms in people living with narcolepsy. If you are in search of a new treatment option for your narcolepsy and cataplexy, this research study may be an option.

Final eligibility is determined during a screening visit at the study site. During this visit you will:

  • Meet with study doctor and staff

  • Complete study questionnaires

You will be required to complete up to four (4) overnight sleep studies. The study doctor will provide you with additional information about the overnight sleep studies.

About Narcolepsy

Narcolepsy is a neurological sleep disorder that causes persistent sleepiness throughout the day, disrupting the brain’s ability to regulate sleep-wake cycles.1 Approximately 60-70% of people diagnosed with narcolepsy also experience cataplexy. Symptoms of cataplexy include sudden loss of muscle tone often triggered by a strong emotion like excitement or laughter.2

Frequently Asked Questions

This section will help answer some important questions you may have.
What is a research study?

A clinical research study (also called a clinical trial) is a medical study that helps to answer important questions about an investigational drug or device, such as: is this safe or how effective is this?

The CONCERT study includes a Screening Period and Treatment Period. Your participation in this study may last up to 9 weeks, but the treatment period is 6 weeks long.

Screening Period: You will be required to make a visit to the study clinic where you will be given details about the study and complete any preliminary tests. This period can last from 1-3 weeks. All study-related care is provided at no cost to you. You do not need health insurance to participate.

Treatment Period: If you qualify and decide to participate, you will take the investigational oral medication at home for six weeks. The study doctor will discuss the medication instructions.

All study-related procedures and the study medication will be provided at no cost. Transportation may be provided if you require assistance.

The information you provide will not be shared with anyone who is not directly associated with this research study without your permission (except as required by law) or as set forth in the informed consent.

If you qualify after taking the questionnaire below, we will match you to a study clinic in your area that is seeking participants or notify you when one becomes available.
